FIELD: seismology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seismology and can be used to determine seismic immigration activity index in epicentral field of seismicity. Based on the experimental data, the seismic stations separated on the surface are plotting the epicentres of earthquakes in the study area. Choose relatively homogeneous areas of the earthquake epicentre field. Map of earthquake epicentres of the selected section is plotted in the form of a circle of given radius. Number of recorded earthquakes is determined on said section. Similar field is used to generate a field of synthesized events randomly distributed with constant probability density of "epicentres". For each site a vector diagram of azimuths of epicentres of actual impacts and "epicentres" of synthesized events is created. Number of epicentres of real shocks and "epicentres" of synthesized events directed to one side in time are determined from vector diagrams in the given angular sector. Number of unidirectional consecutive epicentres of real shocks and "epicentres" of synthesized events of at least three is defined as a chain of earthquakes in a real field of epicentres and as a chain of events in a simulated field of "epicentres". Number of allocated chains in a real earthquake field and the number of allocated chains in the field of synthesized events are calculated. Series of synthesized events generation in the platform is repeated as many times as required. Number of allocated chains is determined for each generation. Results of all generations are used to determine average number of allocated chains. Standard deviation is calculated and seismic-immigration activity index is calculated.

EFFECT: seismic immigration activity index determination in epicentral field of seismicity.
