FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neonatology, paediatrics and hematology, and represents a method for prediction of development of early anemia of premature infants in the first month of life in deep-seated children born with body weight less than 1,500 g. Method consists in the fact that in peripheral venous blood of a newborn at age of 3–5 days, binding insulin-like growth factor protein-3 content is determined, and if its value is less than or equal to 0.766 mcg/ml, early anemia of premature infants is predicted.
EFFECT: invention provides preventing formation of early anemia of premature babies in the first month of life in infants born with body weight less than 1,500 g.
