FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neonatology, paediatrics and haematology, and can be used for prediction of development in the first month of life in deep-seated children born with body weight less than 1500 g, early anaemia of premature newborns infants requiring haemotransfusion. Content of protein-3 binding insulin-like growth factor is determined in peripheral venous blood on 3-5th day of life, child's weight is measured at birth and prognostic index D is calculated by original calculation formula. If D is more than 0, the development of the early premature anaemia of the premature infants with severe haemotransfusion is predicted in the first month of life, and if D is less than 0, the absence of developing early premature anaemia of a severe degree requiring haemotransfusion is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables detecting a high-risk group of premature newborns weighing less than 1500 g for developing in the first month of life of early anaemia of premature infants of severe severity requiring haemotransfusion, and timely preventive measures that improve health and quality of life of these children.
