FIELD: computer equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Device for decoding adaptive sampling shift (SAO) comprises a receiving module for obtaining context-encoded information on left SAO and context-coded information on uplink SAO from bit stream of maximum coding unit (MCU), obtaining information on switching SAO on/off from information on type of SAO MCU, by performing contextual decoding over a bitstream, obtaining information on absolute value of shift of MCU by performing bypass decoding over bit stream in response to determination that information on on/off of SAO indicates performance of SAO; and a recovery unit for outputting the recovered MCU by applying the absolute shift value information to the recovered samples of said MCU, and in response to determining that the SAO type information indicates an edge shift type, the receiving module acquires information on the MCU edge class by performing bypass decoding over the bitstream.

EFFECT: technical result consists in minimization of error between initial image and image.
