METHOD OF TREATING POSTOPERATIVE LYMPHORRHEA USING PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61N5/06 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used for treating postoperative lymphorrhea using photodynamic therapy. Intravenous drop-by-drop introduction of hydroxialuminium trisulfophtalocyanine solution in dose of 1.0 mg/kg of patient's body weight is performed within 25–30 minutes, which is completed 10–12 minutes before the photodynamic therapy. Solution of hydroxialuminium trisulfophtalocyanine with its content of 2 mg/ml before introduction to the patient is preliminarily diluted with 0.9 % sodium chloride solution at ratio of 1:4. That is followed by local anesthesia with 2 % novocaine in amount of 0.5–1.0 ml with additional sedation with a relanium to puncture the skin of the lymphokyste with the needle for intravenous injection of 15 G with an inner bore diameter of 1.8 mm. Fiber-optic light guide with an end microlens with a cylindrical or spherical diffuser is introduced through the needle for circular scattering of light throughout the cavity of the lymphocyst. Diffuser is placed at distance of 0.5–2.5 cm from surface of lymphocyst. Lymphocyst surface is exposed for 60–120 seconds with light flux with power density of 667 mWt/cm² and light dose of 40 J/cm² with wavelength of 675 nm. After the photodynamic therapy is completed, a silicone drain tube is placed into the cyst cavity to be removed after the lymph flow ceases.

EFFECT: method provides stopping postoperative lymphorrhea by using photodynamic therapy.
