In one example, a first valve located in an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) line installed between the intake channel and a first exhaust manifold connected with a first group of cylinder exhaust valves, and/or a second valve located in the flow channel installed between the first exhaust manifold and the exhaust channel, can be adjusted depending on the measured pressure in the first exhaust manifold.
