Disclosed is a method of treating infertility in a patient, wherein the infertility treatment involves: (a) identification of said patient as having serum level of antimueller hormone (AMH) less than 15 pmol/l before treatment; (b) identifying said patient as having a variant Ser/Ser at position 680 of a follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSH) prior to treatment; and (c) administering a dose of more than 12 to 24 mcg of recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) a day or an equivalent dose to said patient. Also disclosed is another version of infertility treatment.
