FIELD: hygiene.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions concerns a composition for oral hygiene and methods for its application. Disclosed composition comprises an effective amount of aluminum chlorohydrate, suspended in a carrier, to prevent or reduce hypersensitivity of teeth, where the aluminum chlorohydrate is present in amount of 0.01 wt. % to 20 wt. % of the total weight of the composition and is made using a buffer selected from glycine and betaine, and demonstrates a SEC chromatogram having the intensity ratio SEC Peak 4 to Peak 3, equal to at least 7, and Peak intensity 4, which is greater than Peak 5 intensity. Carrier is a hydrophobic carrier containing triglyceride C6-C12 fatty acids and is present in the composition in amount of 5 wt. % to 99 wt. % of the total weight of the composition. Composition contains maximum amount of water 3 % by weight. Intensities of said peaks are determined using a SEC chromatogram using the following parameters: analytical pump and Waters® controller, 77251 Rheodyne® dispenser, Protein-Pak® column 125 (Waters), Refractometer Waters 2414, 5.56 mmol of mobile phase nitric acid, 0.50 ml/min flow rate, 2.0 microliter of sample volume and data analysis using Water® Empower software (Waters Corporation, Milford, Mass). Also presented is a method for prevention, reduction or reduction of dental hypersensitivity and a method for closing dental tubules involving administering said composition into the oral cavity of a subject.

EFFECT: using the group of inventions provides effective occlusion of the dental canal and thereby preventing or reducing the hypersensitivity of the teeth.
