SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a hair treatment means. Described is a deforming hair treatment agent comprising the following components (A), (B) and (C): (A) glyoxyl acid or hydrate or salt thereof, (B) a compound represented by following formula (1): where R¹ is a hydrogen atom, A¹ and A², which are optionally identical or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or straight or branched-chain alkyl group or an alkenyl group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, optionally substituted aralkyl group containing 7 to 12 carbon atoms, a halogen atom or -CO-R² (where R² is an optionally substituted aralkyl group or an arylalkenyl group having 7 to 12 carbon atoms, or an optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group containing 6 to 12 carbon atoms), B represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or alkenyl group with a straight or branched chain containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted arylalkenyl group containing 7 to 12 carbon atoms or -OR³ (where R³ represents a hydrogen atom), D represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group or a methyl group, and E represents a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched-chain alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, provided that two or three of A¹, A², B and E are hydrogen atoms, and the remaining groups do not include a sulpho group, and that when D denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, A¹ and B or A² and B together with two adjacent carbon atoms form a benzene ring, optionally substituted with a hydroxy group, and (C) water.
