FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical diagnostics, and can be used for non-invasive assessment of intensity of apoptotic processes in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. That is ensured by picking up patient's saliva in the morning on an empty stomach, measuring activity of superoxide dismutase and concentration of 8-oxo-2'-deoxyguanosine and calculating an activity coefficient of apoptotic processes (Ca) by formula. If the apoptotic process activity value is 0.064 and less, the apoptotic processes in the body are inactive; if the values are in range from 0.065 to 0.251, apoptosis induction is judged; if Ca is higher than 0.251, apoptosis caused by free radical DNA damage in type 1 diabetes mellitus is evaluated.

EFFECT: invention provides higher accuracy and reduced time for performing early diagnostics of apoptotic processes in the patients suffering type 1 diabetes mellitus.
