SUBSTANCE: invention relates to individual means of saving people during their independent evacuation in fires and other emergency situations in high-rise buildings and other high-rise building structures. Device for gravity self-lowering of people from high altitude includes adjustable release mechanism, rope and seat with safety belts. Adjustable release mechanism consists of a housing, inside which there is a drum with two gear wheels rigidly fixed in its middle part and fixed between them on the drum by a cable, two support bars fixed on body opposite to each other in one horizontal plane with satellite gears installed on them, having gear connection with gear wheels and installed in one horizontal plane by braking devices, each of which consists of shaft with splines made in its middle part for provision of gear connection with satellite gear, two side surfaces of each gear wheel of brake units fixed on shaft on outer side, in each of which on the side of external side surface of each gear wheel there is a brake disc installed on the shaft with possibility of axial movement along the shaft splines for contact in the phase of braking with the external side surface of the gear wheel, centrifugal levers fixed at equal distance from each other by means of axial joints on a coupling fixed on shaft, connected by rods to brake disc, as well as rigidly fixed in lower part of inner cavity of housing, under lower elevations of gear wheels, cup with spring-loaded spring loaded by means of locking spring, to the lower part of which there is a hand brake and cord with a plumb, at that to ensure retention of brake disc in neutral position at normal descent speed each centrifugal lever is connected by means of lever spring with coupling.
EFFECT: device for gravitational self-descent of people from high altitude is proposed.
