FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Crossed offspring are produced by pairing of woolen sheep of woolly direction of productivity with mutton producers of fine-wool breed of meat direction of productivity. Obtained offspring, on 7th day after birth, are used to determine exterior-productive indices: back width in maclackes, girth of the metacarpus, a massiveness index, and a "live mass" productivity index. Ringlets are assessed by the external-productive indices, using as a marker of meat productivity degree of manifestation of maclackes. Sheep on 7th day after birth is divided into groups according to the categories of well-being depending on the degree of manifestation of maclackes (width of maclackes thigh): ringlets, in which maclackes have a low degree of severity, are included in a group with a higher category of fatness; ringlets, in which average severity of maclackes are expressed, is included in a group with a medium category of fatness; ringlets, in which maclackes have high degree of severity, are considered to belong to a group of sub-average cattle category. Exterior productive indicators are determined: back width in maclackes, girth of metacarpus, index of massiveness, productivity index "live mass" at age of 4–4.5 months (after weaning from mothers). That is ensured by the confirmatory assessment of the distributed ringlets according to these indices and makes the prediction by the external-productive indices to age of 4–4.5 months (after weaning from the mothers).

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase accuracy of distribution into groups by categories of well-being.
