FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydrometry and relates to the method of determining the dependence of the height of the liquid surface and the slopes of waves on time. Method is implemented by measuring the string immersion height into the liquid. Strings are illuminated with an infrared source of light, and the height of immersion of each string into the liquid is recorded on the matrix of the infrared photodetector by the position of the interface on the strings.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in the measurements accuracy.
