FIELD: hygiene.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of application of compositions for oral care containing basic amino acid arginine. Disclosed method of increasing or enhancing expression of HSP27 in oral tissues involves applying an oral care composition on oral tissues, containing basic amino acid or its salt in amount of 0.005 wt. % to 0.02 wt. % by total weight of composition and carrier acceptable for oral cavity, wherein main amino acid is arginine. Said oral tissue is preferably a gum tissue. Method provides, in particular, prevention or restoration of soft tissue injury in oral cavity, or wound healing in oral tissues, or prevention or treatment of inflammation in oral tissues, or reducing the number of active forms of oxygen in oral tissues.
EFFECT: exposure to low concentrations of arginine as defined above is effective in intensifying production of HSP27 in injured tissue, thereby accelerating recovery of the injured tissue.
