SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to cell lines which are genetically modified for overexpression of β-galactoside-α-2,3-sialyltransferase 1 (ST3Gal1), preferably human ST3Gal1, which can be used to produce recombinant glycoproteins containing highly or completely sialylated O-linked using GalNac glycans (GalNAc-O-glycans), preferably having framework of 1 GalNAc-O-glycans, as well as to corresponding recombinant glycoproteins. Besides, the present invention relates to corresponding methods of expression of recombinant glycoproteins.
