FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to cardiology, oncology and rehabilitation. Disclosed is a method of predicting the development of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity after polychemotherapy with anthracycline antibiotics in patients with breast cancer. Polymorphism 5A/6A (rs3025058) is determined by typing alleles of matrix metalloproteinase-3 gene. If observing genotype 5A/5A carriers, a high risk of anthracycline-induced cardiomyopathy is predicted.
EFFECT: invention provides an effective method of predicting the development of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity when treating oncological patients with anthracycline antibiotics.
