FIELD: food industry; physics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a food processing device for use with a near-infrared radiation source and a sensor. More specifically, the present invention relates to such a food processing device for use with a near-infrared radiation source and a sensor which can be used to determine the amount of macronutrient type in a food product in a food processing device. Disclosed is a food processing device (100) for use with a near-infrared radiation source and a sensor. Device comprises a food processing chamber (110) adapted to receive food products, a food processing unit (120) configured to treat food products in a food processing chamber, and optical element (130) configured to reflect the emitted near-infrared radiation from the near infrared radiation source towards the sensor, wherein the optical element is located in the food processing unit or the channel formed in the food processing chamber.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing an improved device for use with a near-infrared radiation source and a sensor so as to reduce the effect of mechanical damage and / or color change on the path of emitted or reflected near infrared radiation.
