FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Engine control method consists in receiving differential pressure sensor (178) and pressure sensor signal (122) in intake manifold (44) in controller (12). Controller (12) makes conclusion on presence or absence of exhaust gas recirculation system degradation as per signal of pressure drop sensor (178) and signal of pressure sensor (122) in intake manifold (44) at engine operation with pressure in intake manifold (44), exceeding atmospheric pressure. Conclusion is made on the basis of exceeding the threshold with the signal of the pressure difference sensor (178) and additionally converting the signal of the pressure difference sensor (178) into the pressure drop. Actuator (163) is connected to motor (10) and controller (12) according to the made conclusion by means of controller (12). Embodiment of engine control method and vehicle system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of indication of defectiveness of the EGR system and in enabling evaluation of the EGR system in a wider range of operating conditions of the engine.
