FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lightguide optical devices with a substrate. Optical device comprises a light-transmitting substrate having at least two main surfaces, faces and an output aperture; optical element for introducing light waves into the substrate using total internal reflection, and at least one flat reflecting surface, having at least one active side and located between two main surfaces of the light-transmitting substrate for bringing light waves from the substrate. At that, the device provides reflection of light waves channeled inside the substrate, at least twice active side of reflecting surface before their removal from substrate through outlet aperture and mainly reflection from one of main surfaces between first and second reflection from reflecting surface.
EFFECT: compact helmet-mounted display system is disclosed.
