METHOD OF ENDOSCOPIC LASER TYMPANOPLASTY IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61F11/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely otorhinolaryngology, and can be used for surgical management of chronic suppurative otitis media – mesotympanitis. Under control of endoscope, tragus cartilage with perichondrium is extracted, which is resected with single unit for use as plastic material. Deepithelisation of perforation edges is performed by laser radiation of fiber laser with power 1.8–2.5 W under control of endoscope 11 cm 2.7 mm in diameter 0°, size of perforation is measured by Thomassin dissector. Cartilage is completely separated from one side of the cartilage, after which a cartilage island is formed on the basis of mucoperichondria of the other side of the cartilage using a funnel of the appropriate size. Rest of the cartilage is separated by a round knife under the control of endoscope 11 cm 2.7 mm in diameter 0°. Bioresorbable hemostatic collagen sponge and a formed flap are introduced into the tympanic cavity; edges of the flap are tucked inside; rubber strips of 2-3 pcs are applied and hemostatic sponges.

EFFECT: method enables improving operation reliability without prolonging the procedure and without additional incisions due to use of laser radiation during de-epithelisation of perforation edges.
