FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and chemical engineering, specifically to coordination and synthetic chemistry of metal-organic coordination polymers, having a sorption capacity, in particular to a method of producing microporous copper (II) trimesiate, comprising steps of dissolving trimesic acidin ethyl alcohol and adding an aqueous copper (II) salt solution to produce a mixture, in which the following ratio of components, wt %: 50–80 % alcohol, 5–10 % trimesic acid, 10–20 % copper salt, water – balance, wherein the mixture is heated at 20–100 °C for 0.5–5 hours with occasional drop-by-drop addition of 0.5–2 % solution of an alkaline agent or by adding an alkaline agent in amount of 0.5 to 2 molar portions per mol part of salt copper, separating the precipitate, which is cooled to 20–30 °C, purified by successive treatment with ethanol and distilled water or aqueous solution of ethanol with concentration of 10–30 % and dried in air at 70–80 °C until purple color appears in powder.

EFFECT: technical result of patent solution consists in increase of sorption capacity relative to gases and steam due to increase of surface area and volume of pores of finished product.
