FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for measuring bath temperature of molten steel. Wire with optical core to improve measurement of temperature in molten steel bath contains optical fiber and cover, on the side surrounding optical fiber. Cover surrounds optical fiber in several layers. One layer is a metal coating, also called a metal sheath or a metal tube. Under the metal tube there is an intermediate layer, also called filler. Intermediate layer is formed from heat-insulating material having melting point in temperature range from 1000 °C to 1500 °C, preferably from 1200 °C to 1400 °C, so that part of intermediate layer is fluid when exposed to temperatures of molten metal, and intermediate layer, entire intermediate layer and/or cover, lateral surrounding optical fiber, can be melted directly when immersed into molten metal or directly exposed to molten metal.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of measuring temperature in molten steel bath.
