FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of video signal decoding. Disclosed is a method of decoding a video signal, comprising: obtaining residual coefficients relating to a current block from a video signal; obtaining the inverse quantisation residual coefficients by performing inverse quantisation of the residual coefficients; determining the skipping mode of the transformation associated with the current block from the number of possible skipping transform based on the skip mode index indicating the skipping mode relating to the current block, wherein possible conversions include at least one mode from a two-dimensional conversion mode, a horizontal conversion mode, a vertical conversion mode and a non-conversion mode, and the number or type of possible gaps of the conversion are different from each other in accordance with the size of the current block or the shape of the current block; and obtaining residual samples from inverse quantisation residual coefficients of current block based on thus defined conversion skipping mode, wherein if the thus defined skip conversion mode is a two-dimensional conversion mode, residual samples of the current block are obtained by performing inverse transformation of the residual current coefficients of the current block, and inverse transformation is performed by using discrete cosine transform (DCT) and/or discrete sine conversion (DSC).

EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of converting and compressing video information.
