PACKING SOLUTIONS FOR CONTACT LENSES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61L12/00 A61L2/07 B29D11/00 B65B25/00 B65B55/22

Abstract RU 2720310 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to improved products which are contact lenses which are characterized not only by improved but also by wetting ability. An ophthalmic product containing a sealed and sterilized package comprising a first packaging solution and a soft hydrogel contact lens, which has been immersed into the first packaging solution in a sealed package and disinfected therein, wherein the first packaging solution is a first buffered saline solution, which includes a surface-active agent which is a poly (oxyethylene) and poly (oxybutylene) of formula (II)

block copolymer, where R is selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl; m is an integer with average value from 10 to 1000; and n is an integer with average value from 5 to 1000, provided that the value of m/n ranges from about 2:1 to about 10:1, where the first buffer salt solution also contains from 0.1 % to 2 % by weight of the lubricating agent, which is a copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidone and at least one amino-containing vinyl monomer, which is dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate or dimethylaminoethyl acrylate, where the copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidone and the amino-containing vinyl monomer is characterized by a molecular weight of at least 50000 Da, where the first packaging solution is characterized by a pH value of 6.0 to 8.0, osmolality of 200 to 450 mosmole/kg and viscosity of not more than 5.0 centipoise at 25°C, where soft hydrogel contact lens is characterized by reduced contact angle of wetting, denoted RWCA, at least 40 %,

where , in which is the limiting wetting angle of the reference hydrogel contact lens immersed in the second buffer salt solution as a control and disinfected therein, and is the wetting end angle of the hydrogel contact lens immersed in the first buffered saline solution and disinfected therein, where the soft hydrogel contact lens is characterized by a stable wettability which is characterized by the wear caused by an increase in the wetting end angle, denoted "", by about 50 % or less, where , in which is wetting contact angle of the hydrogel contact lens, and it is measured directly outside the package, and is the end angle of wetting the hydrogel contact lens, and it is measured after transfer from package into container, containing 1 ml of phosphate buffer salt solution (pH = 7.0–7.4), and then complete immersion and gentle agitation in phosphate buffer salt solution for 16 hours at 34°C.

EFFECT: technical result is improved wettability and wettability.
