FIELD: ship building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, particularly to submarine vehicles which break up ice cover using a resonance method. Disclosed is method of ice cover destruction, consisting in submarine excitation in ice of resonant flexural-gravity waves, at which on the ship hull on the upper surface of its fore end elastic cover is installed, which periodically with frequency of resonance flexural-gravity waves is closed and exposed by means of the screen for a period of time equal to half of the period of these waves.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of ice destruction by an underwater ship is achieved.
