FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recovery for reuse of worn-out parts, one or more surfaces of which are charged with diamond powder, for example, for reconditioning parts of molds used in making a diamond tool, for restoration of discs charged with diamond powder, used for cutting diamonds. Worn parts with surface, charged with diamond powders, are first subjected to thermal treatment in free state at temperature and during time, providing oxidation of diamond powders before transition into state of graphite and/or carbon-containing gas, thereafter, the surface of the heat-treated parts is subjected to machining to remove worn-out layer.
EFFECT: invention provides reduced cost of reconditioning worn parts by eliminating breakage and possibility of using a less expensive cutting tool, economy of expensive metal used for manufacturing due to reduced thickness of removed layer, and as a result, longer service life of parts due to possibility of more recovery of such parts until complete wear.
