FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing metal composite materials based on titanium intermetallic compound, reinforced with high-modulus fibres used in aircraft engineering, in particular for hardening elements of gas turbine engines, and also relates to plants for continuous production of a thin strip of metal matrix composite. Method of reinforcing a turbomachine element with a metal matrix composite based on titanium intermetallic compound involves layer-by-layer coiling of a silicon carbide-based non-oxide ceramic reinforcing fibre on a structural element to form a band, melting of powder mixture to produce matrix melt based on titanium intermetallide of required composition with melting point lower than fusion point of reinforcing fibre, application of a cladding layer from alloy to the strip, impregnation of each layer with matrix melt, crystallization of melt and fusion of reinforcing fibres under pressure with formation of metal matrix composite, wherein application of clad layer and impregnation with matrix melt is carried out before winding of fibres on structural element by passing through matrix melt of reinforcing fibres in form of tape with distance between fibres in it, equal to 1–3 diameters of fibre, with a surface density of 40–180 g/m2, wherein the tape is wound on a turbomachine rotor element, which is one of rollers of the roll crystallizer, and crystallisation of melt and fusion of reinforcing fibres is carried out in protective atmosphere under pressure of second cooling roll of crystallizer. Plant for method implementation comprises vessel for preparation of matrix melt with feed chute, two rolls of crystalliser, interacting with each other, connected to rotation mechanism, wherein at least one of rolls is equipped with cooling system, two end walls installed on ends of rolls and forming receiving capacity, connected to container for preparation of matrix melt, installed on chute facility, controlling supply of melt to receiving container, secondary cooling device, assembly of reinforcing fibres input into rolls, protective casing to create protective atmosphere, connected to protective gas supply device, and heat energy sources, wherein it is equipped with a device preventing crystal melt crystallisation on the crystallizer roll, as one rolls, the crystalliser comprises a rotor element in the form of a rotation body, and secondary cooling device is made with possibility of additional cooling and reduction of metal matrix composite on surface of roller of turbo machine rotor element, at that it contains at least two sources of heat energy, one of which is installed above container for preparation of matrix melt, and other is above receiving capacity.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing rate of formation of metal matrix composite, modulus of its elasticity, strength and heat resistance at high oxidation resistance.
