FIELD: heating of electric vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: heating system for an electric vehicle includes a subsystem of a heat pump, an electric heater subsystem and a controller. Heating system additionally includes one or more sensors for determination of ambient temperature and value of metric of working efficiency of heat pump and to provide these values to controller. Controller is configured to determine optimum percentage contribution to heating of subsystem of heat pump and subsystem of electric heater based on the determined ambient temperature and the defined value of the heat pump operating efficiency metric. Performance metric of heat pump can be pressure value at compressor outlet.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of heater usage.
