FIELD: laser engineering.

SUBSTANCE: gas-dynamic laser comprises burner, combustion chamber, nozzle, throttle grate, diffuser, cooling chamber, cooling jacket, optical resonator, semitransparent mirror, opaque mirror, gas duct, working gas mix, air pump. After the optical resonator in the gas duct there are serially arranged sulfur melting unit, air heater for heating of air supplied by the injector to the burner, contact unit for sulfuric acid production, a cleaning unit for trapping harmful contaminants and a fan to create rarefaction in the gas duct and discharge of the cleaned working gas medium into the atmosphere. Laser also includes a pump for feeding molten sulfur into the burner. Working gas mixture used is gaseous sulfur combustion products with a component in the form of SO2 emitting molecules to form laser radiation based on vibrational-rotational bands in the infrared region.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of heat energy consumption for generation of laser radiation.
