FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to submarine vessels capable of destroying the continuous ice cover upon their surfacing. Disclosed is method of ice cover destruction, which consists in attachment of vessel to ice by means of anchor and rope with subsequent filling of ballast tanks with outboard water and giving trim to ship. Then, by means of the thrust devices installed in ship tips, ship is provided with rotation around vertical main axis of inertia, note here that rope is attached to ship at point located on its rotational axis while swivel is arranged therein.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of ice breaking.
