FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to submarine vessels capable of destroying the continuous ice cover upon their ascent. Disclosed is method of ice cover destruction, consisting in attachment of underwater vessel to ice by means of anchor and rope with subsequent filling of ballast tanks with outboard water, wherein ship by means of thrust devices installed in the ends of ship provide rotation around vertical main axis of inertia and simultaneously impart transverse roll with frequency of resonant flexural-gravity waves, note here that rope is attached to ship at point located on its rotational axis while swivel is arranged therein.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of ice breaking.
