FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to electrical engineering and power electronics, particularly to converters of electric energy designed as per scheme of two-link electrical converters. Purpose of the invention is expansion of functional capabilities, in particular possibility to vary in wide limits DC link voltage and amplitude of output voltage of the frequency converter with adjustable voltage rectifier, to simplify the control system and to increase reliability of operation. Besides, proposed device has sufficient versatility, which enables to use frequency converter with wide range of both input and output voltages. Set goal is achieved due to that the frequency converter circuit incorporates throttles and new connections allowing use of the transistor of the brake circuit as a power switch for the braking circuit and an element of the step-up voltage rectifier.

EFFECT: positive effect of the proposal consists in the fact that with a minimum number of simple and reliable elements provides improved functional capabilities of the article, improving operating reliability, as well as possibility of such frequency converter operation with any combinations of input and output voltages.
