FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the sphere of electric engineering and power electronics, in particular to converters of electric energy designed as per the circuit of two-link electrical converters. The technical result lies in an improved efficiency of the device, reduced time period for the preparation of the converter for operation, improved reliability and improved performance. The result is reached by the addition of a transistor, diode and choke to the circuit of an electrical converter thus arranging a charging circuit for a storage capacitor. At that the limitation and stabilisation of a charging current is arranged using a fully controllable element - a transistor operating in a pulse-width modulation mode. Using the charging transistor with an insignificant rated current of the collector it is possible to implement a charging system for the storage capacitor and a diagnosing system for a DC-link and voltage inverter.
EFFECT: suggested frequency converter allows an increase in energy efficiency and operational reliability as well as an improvement in operational performance.
