FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, particularly, to underwater vessels destroying ice cover during surfacing. Ice cover is proposed to be destroyed by submarine by its attachment to ice by means of anchor and rope. Available onboard ballast tanks are filled with outboard water. Vessel using first installed in its ends auxiliary thrust devices at first providing rotation around its vertical main axis of inertia, and then its rotation is periodically stopped for a period of time equal to the period of resonant flexural-gravity waves, wherein the rope is attached to the ship at a point located on its axis of rotation, and in the rope there is a swivel.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of ice breaking.
