FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to self-supporting insulated strands intended for transmission of electric energy via overhead power line of 35 kV and higher. Self-supporting insulated strand consists of one central wire, around which layers of wires are arranged, made with linear contact of wires between each other, with the same pitch of layers, external surfaces of wires are plastically deformed with degree of reduction of 10–21 % of area of strand cross-section. Number of layers of wire varies from one to three, number of wires in strand can vary from 6 to 46. Number of layers and number of wires in strand is determined by nominal cross-section of strand. All strand wires are made from aluminum, or alloy based on aluminum, or copper.

EFFECT: technical result is improved technical and operational characteristics of the product, such as reduced running weight of strand, high strength of strand in tension, non-resistance of bearing corrosion element.
