FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of controlling dimensions of rolling stock. Device includes U-shaped frame (1) installed above railway track with scanning laser range finders (2,3,4) with built-in computers, optical-electronic sensor (5) of beginning of composition and counting cars, television cameras of optoelectronic sensors (6, 7, 8, 9) for recognition and fixation of numbers of cars, TV camera (17) for inspecting car roofs, laser range finders (12, 13, 15, 16), orientation in space of optical axes of which corresponds to lines limiting car overall dimensions, outputs of which through digital comparators are connected to inputs of OR logic element (24), data processing system (10), dispatcher panel (11), acoustic alarm (25), units (29, 30) for generating emergency and warning information on monitor screen (31), dynamic scales (18) with computer (27) for transverse displacement of car centre of gravity.
EFFECT: higher reliability of detecting violations of dimensions of rolling stock.
