SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for random access. disclosed is a method for random access, comprising steps of: determining by a terminal device a first random access method for random access; and performing, by the terminal device, a random access process in accordance with a first random access method, wherein the random access process, which is performed by using the first random access method, is 4-stage random access process or 2-step random access process, and wherein determination by a terminal device of a first random access method for random access comprises: determining a first random access method by a terminal device in accordance with a random function.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling a terminal device to select a terminal access method such that random access can be flexibly executed.
