SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining the size of a transport block. Method comprises: receiving, by a terminal device, control information sent by a network device, wherein the control information comprises indication information and data channel resource information; determining, by a terminal device, a modulation scheme and a code rate based on a set of mapping relationships and indication information and determining the number of frequency-time resources based on the data channel resource information, the set of mapping relationships comprising a correspondence between the indication information and the combination of the modulation scheme and the code rate; determining, by a terminal device, a second size (TBS) of a transport block based on a modulation scheme, a code rate, a number of frequency-time resources and a number of transport layers; determination by a terminal device of a first TBS based on a second TBS, wherein the first TBS satisfies the following condition: when second TBS is less than or equal to first reference threshold, first TBS is an element in set of values; and decoding by terminal device based on first TBS, data channel carried on frequency-time resources, or sending by the terminal device on frequency-time resources of the data channel based on the first TBS.

EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of transport unit size determination.
