FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to broadband optical radiation and can be used in microelectronics, spectroscopy, photochemistry and other fields. Device for eliminating optical discharge oscillations consists of discharge chamber, transparent for input laser radiation and output optical radiation, filled with gas mixture, of one or several lasers located outside of discharge chamber, which radiation is focused near discharge chamber center. Inside the chamber there is a cylindrical tube coated with laser-absorbing material from the inside and heat-insulated from the outside, located mainly vertically, lower part of which is located higher and mainly in the center of optical discharge, and upper part forms a gap with inner surface of discharge chamber, wherein the height of the annular gap should be greater than one quarter of its diameter, and the lasers are arranged such that their radiation after passing through the optical discharge falls mainly on the inner surface of the tube.
EFFECT: reduction of oscillatory instability of optical discharge and improvement of its spatial stability.
