FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices and methods for elimination of optical discharge instabilities for stabilization of broadband optical radiation with high spectral brightness and is of interest for applications in microelectronics, spectroscopy, photochemistry and other fields. Device for elimination of optical discharge instabilities consists of discharge chamber transparent for input laser radiation and output optical radiation, filled with gas mixture, one or several lasers located outside the discharge chamber, the radiation of which is focused near the center of the discharge chamber. Inner volume of discharge chamber is tightly connected to external reservoir, which is a Helmholtz resonator, in which two metal electrodes are installed.
EFFECT: improved characteristics of optical discharge.
