FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Front part (102) of engine comprises first end (133) of crankshaft (132) and unit (404) of intermediate gear containing intermediate gear (406) and idle pulley (408). Intermediate gear (406) is engaged with first end (133) of crankshaft (132). Idle pulley (408) is connected with intermediate gear (406) and has common axis of rotation with it. Pulleys (142) and (144) of the first and the second camshafts are located vertically above unit (404) of the intermediate pinion. Cam drive belt (146) is in contact with each of the first and second camshafts (142) and (144) and idle pulley (408). Driven gear (412) of fuel pump is in direct engagement with intermediate gear (406). Drive gear (412) of the fuel pump is connected to the driving shaft of the fuel pump. Fuel pump is located in direction of axis of rotation of intermediate gear (406) between pistons of engine and intermediate gear (406) with drive gear (412) of fuel pump. Disclosed are a method for an engine and an engine system.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the size of the engine system due to reduced size of pulleys of cam shafts.
