FIELD: monitoring and measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to find point of reduction of insulation resistance relative to earth (housing) of electrical installations, devices, windings and other objects, containing serially connected elements (sections) with approximately identical parameters. Summary: resistance of sound insulation of an object is measured by three readings of a voltmeter using an operating voltage at the object. Resistance of a sound insulation of the element is calculated. In case insulation resistance of object is measured this parameter is measured by three readings of voltmeter. Resistance of additional leak through insulation is calculated. Voltage of one of the object poles relative to the housing is measured. Voltage is calculated relative to the housing on additional leakage using distribution of voltage between corresponding points along object and housing, determined from measured voltage of one of object poles relative to housing. Calculated voltage is compared to the casing on additional leakage with distribution of voltage between corresponding points along object and casing. Result of the comparison is used to determine the location of additional leakage taking into account the error related to inequality of parameters of serially connected elements of the object.
EFFECT: reduced number of measurements and measuring means, shorter time for troubleshooting, simplified search technique and applied equipment on object, located under operating voltage without changing mode and reducing safety of object operation.
