METHOD FOR MODELING CRANIOCEREBRAL INJURY WITH PERSISTENT NEUROLOGICAL DEFICIENCY Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2739700 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, to neurosurgery and can be used to form a model of craniocerebral injury on laboratory animals. That is ensured by taking a rat under ether anaesthesia, placing it in the abdominal position, fixing the limbs on the table. Anaesthesia surgical stage is determined by the absence of a corneal reflex in an animal. Median longitudinal incision of 2 cm is performed on the scalp in the right parietal region free from wool and treated with an aseptic solution; trephination is carried out with a cutter of the skull bones at distance of 2 mm lateral from the median line; the dura mater is left intact. Further, the load, which is a steel cylinder with weight of 114.6 g, is dropped from height of 20 cm along the guide polyethylene tube, thereby striking the region of the trepanation opening in the right parietal region of the brain. Exposure is 0.224 N. After the injury, the animal's skin is closed with a surgical suture, the suture is treated with an antiseptic solution, the therapy with gentamycin is administered intramuscularly.

EFFECT: method provides simulating craniocerebral injury with persistent neurological deficiency.
