FIELD: editing video content.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for editing video content. The solution includes receiving video input data; converting input video data to a predefined format; generating a plurality of initial metadata values for a frame of converted video data, the plurality of initial metadata values including the first metadata value corresponding to the first fixed value not calculated from content including the frame, the second metadata value corresponding to an average luminance value of the frame, and the third value metadata corresponding to a second fixed value not calculated from the content, wherein the first metadata value, the second metadata value and the third metadata value include information used by the decoder to prepare by rendering a decoded image on a display.
EFFECT: improving the quality of video content processing.
