METHOD FOR RECYCLING ASPHALTENES TO OBTAIN PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC B09B3/00 C09J195/00 C10G21/26

Abstract RU 2740320 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of high-molecular compounds, in particular to a method of recycling or processing high-molecular components of heavy oil - asphaltenes into polymer products with useful properties, and can be used in oil producing and oil refining enterprises, where asphaltenes are formed. Method of recycling asphaltenes involves mixing the copolymer with asphaltenes and the other component directly, heating and obtaining a product with adhesive properties. Asphaltenes used are impurity-free asphaltenes obtained from heavy oil containing from 2 to 11 wt. % of asphaltenes, precipitation with hexamethyldisiloxane, taken in amounts providing ratio of oil/hexamethyldisiloxane equal to 1/5 to 1/40. Copolymer used is a block copolymer of styrene with isoprene or a block copolymer of styrene with butadiene. Other component used is naphthenic oil. Components are in the following ratio, wt. %: pure asphaltenes 10–40, naphthenic oil 30–50, said block copolymer is the rest. First, all initial components are heated until melting, then mixing is performed in two-rotor mixer and mixing is performed at rotor rpm of 30–100 rpm to produce pressure-sensitive adhesive as a product with adhesion properties.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the degree of utilization of asphaltenes, and the obtained pressure-sensitive adhesive is able to form an adhesion bond at ordinary temperature with high adhesion properties.
