FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and specifically to a method of producing aluminium hydroxides or oxides and is intended for use in producing catalytic carriers, catalysts and ceramics. Method of producing aluminium oxide involves mechanical activation of the aluminium-containing component, moulding the granules, drying and calcining them. Aluminium-containing component used is aluminium metal powder. Mechanical activation is carried out in the presence of aluminium oxide powder at weight ratio Al:Al2O3 = 1:(1–0.2). Obtained mass is subjected to hydrothermal treatment at temperature of 70–95 °C.
EFFECT: obtaining aluminium oxide with higher specific surface area, as well as high catalytic activity in synthesis of dimethyl ether.
