SUBSTANCE: method performed by the wireless device for managing radio resources in the wireless device contains steps in which: a message is received that configures the radio channel for use by the wireless device; the presence of an encryption configuration setting in the message is checked that allows or disables encryption for the radio channel; at least one of allowing or prohibiting encryption for the radio channel is performed in accordance with the received message. The message configures multiple radio channels for the wireless device. The stage, at which the presence of an encryption configuration setting for the radio channel in the message is checked, contains a stage at which the pdcp-Config information element specific to the radio channel is checked, as well as a stage at which the pdcp-Config information element is checked after the extension marker.
EFFECT: provision of encryption configuration and protection of the integrity of radio channels.
