FIELD: vehicles engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling an electric traction system of vehicles. The method for regulating the electric transmission of a diesel locomotive in the electric brake mode is as follows. The setting of the braking force of the locomotive is set, the first setting of the excitation current and the current of the armatures of the braking traction motors is set. The inverse value of the magnetic flux is calculated, the obtained value is multiplied with the setting of the braking force of the locomotive, the result is normalized and taken as the second setting of the current of the armatures of the braking electric motors. The minimum setting is selected from all the armature current settings, compared with the measured maximum armature current, the result of the comparison is integrated and taken as the second setting of the excitation current of the braking electric motors. The minimum setting is selected from all the excitation current settings, it is compared with the measured value of the excitation current, the comparison result is amplified, and the excitation current of the braking motors is regulated. The calculated value of the rotational speed of one of the braking electric motors is calculated, the inverse value of the obtained value is normalized and taken as the third setting of the current of the armatures of the braking electric motors.

EFFECT: invention improves reliability of the electric brake of a diesel locomotive.
