SUBSTANCE: method of encoding image data includes conversion of input image data by frequency to generate array of input image coefficients converted by frequency using processing matrix multiplication according to the maximum dynamic range of converted data and using conversion matrices, and selection of maximum dynamic range and/or accuracy of conversion matrix data according to bit depth of input image data. The selection stage contains sub-stages, on which accuracy of conversion matrix data is set less on the first offset bit number than the bit depth of the input image data and the maximum dynamic range of converted data is set more on the second offset bit number than the bit depth of the input image data.

EFFECT: technical result is generating less amount of encoded data.
