FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. A peptide compound as a specific inhibitor of cysteine cathepsins and its applications are proposed. Synthetic peptides are R1-PEPT-R2 compounds, where PEPT is one of the amino acid sequences: PLVE, VLPE; R1 is one of the protective groups: acetyl, benzyloxycarbonyl or none; R2 is a derivative of fluoromethyl ketone (FMK) or chloromethyl ketone (CMK). The proposed peptides are able to inhibit the proteolytic activity of cysteine cathepsins, are characterized by high affinity to the catalytic triad of cysteine cathepsins, and can be used to create drugs that are specific inhibitors of proteolytic processes involving cysteine cathepsins, in particular, oncogenesis processes.
EFFECT: creation of drugs that are specific inhibitors of proteolytic processes involving cysteine cathepsins.
